The Story
Many decades ago, there was a group of German Lutherans who lived in Painesdale and gathered for worship in the old community center. Ministers from Saints Peter and Paul in Hancock would regularly travel to Painesdale to lead worship and care for this group of people.
At some point, that ministry site closed down, and as more people were able to travel they simply gathered together for worship in the church at Hancock.
Recently, God has been connecting Saints Peter and Paul again to the people of Painesdale. The Holy Spirit has been opening doors and relationships for us to begin meeting again in Painesdale to share the Good News of Jesus with those who might be open to hear it. The Jeffers High School has been gracious to literally open their doors to us so we can meet in their beautiful cafeteria.
What better way to learn about Jesus than to sit down at a table and eat some food together?! Hence, "The Table."
Come, join us for Food and Jesus!
Luke 5:29-32
And Levi made him a great feast in his house, and there was a large company of tax collectors and others reclining at table with them. And the Pharisees and their scribes grumbled at his disciples, saying, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?” And Jesus answered them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance."
