This Advent, we return to the very first words of Scripture: “In the beginning, God created…” From the first light to the Sabbath rest, each day of creation points us forward to Christ, the true Light, Life, and Rest for the world. As we light the candles of hope, peace, joy, and love, we’ll see how the God who spoke creation into being now speaks new creation into our hearts through Jesus. And on Christmas, we’ll celebrate the “eighth day”—a new beginning—when the Light of the world is born, and God makes all things new.
